Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) PhD Admission 2017

Eligibility Criteria for CCMB Hyderabad PhD Admission 2017
Applicants who satisfy the following criteria only need apply:
Applicants with a Master’s degree in any branch of science or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmacy or Medicine having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g., CSIR, UGC, DBT, ICMR, etc.), DST-INSPIRE or any other equivalent fellowship can only apply.
Valid fellowship is an absolute requirement for pursuing PhD at this Centre.
Upper age limit is 28years as on December 16th 2016 which is relaxable by 5 years as per GoI rules for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Handicapped applicants.
Admission Procedure
Mere fulfillment of the minimum requirements stipulated in the notification would not automatically entitle a person for selection; the decision of the Centre in this regard shall be final.
Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification.
Written Test and Interview: The online applications will be screened and the eligible applicants will be called for written test on 19th January 2017 at CCMB, Hyderabad.
Travelling Allowance is not payable by CCMB and applicants have to make their own arrangements for stay, etc. at Hyderabad.

Courses Offered
PhD (Neuroscience) – Students from diverse academic backgrounds are considered for this programme. Fellowship for Junior Research Fellows is Rs.25000/- per month and for Senior Research Fellows Rs.28000/- per month.
For M.Sc. (Neuroscience) – NBRC is one of the few Institutes in the country to offer M.Sc. (Neuroscience) degree. Students are provided a fellowship of Rs.12000/- per month.
Eligibility Criteria for NBRC Gurgaon Phd and MSc Admission 2017
For PhD (Neuroscience): Applicants must be Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences /Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer applications/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Science /Psychology from a recognized Institute/University or a minimum of four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering/Technology/Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.

Only the applicants with at least 55% (for SC/ST/PH applicants, 50%) marks or equivalent grade from secondary (10th) exam onwards will be considered; applicants must calculate their percentage up to two decimal points without rounding off to determine their eligibility.
Application Procedure
For Applicants Appearing through JGEEBILS Channel: NBRC invites applications for admissions to the PhD and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) Programs through JGEEBILS (Joint Graduate Entrance Exam for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences).
Applicants for both PhD and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programs have to appear for JGEEBILS schedule to be conducted on December 11th 2016.
Applicants, who are appearing for JGEEBILS can apply for both PhD and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programs of NBRC.
NBRC will accept applications from GATE qualified applicants (with 85 percentile or more in GATE 2016 / 2017) in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Information Technology and Instrumentation Engineering for its PhD Program. These applicants should apply to NBRC with their GATE score.
GATE/JEST/External Fellowship Channels are valid for PhD Program only. Admission to M.Sc. (Neuroscience) is restricted to JGEEBILS applicants.
